amigos mios

my friends

I will go gradually showing pictures of some Chilean landscapes. Know very little about my own country, but I like to get good photos wherever you go.

Start showing them the most important nitrate Chile, Humberstone, who unfortunately no longer works due to the existence of artificial nitrates.

According to the chronology that appears in a photo, the nitrate began to exploit caliche in 1862. In 1934 renamed to Santiago Humberstone, and stopped work in 1960. From 2005 is "World Heritage of Humanity" and was restored for the visiting public. Humberstone is located in the First Region of Tarapaca is in northern Chile, about 1800 km.

In its time it was a village that had everything ... theater, church, pool, hotel, schools, commerce, etc ... despite how small it was most populated (3,700 people) had all the necessary and with a quality of life and impressive organization.

the entrance, through the kindness of one person, enter free  but the entrance is $ 1500 (U.S. $ 2.5) for adults and $ 1000 (U.S. $ 2) for children

It is interesting that museums were created in those places. In our country the former communist monuments, important factories or unique places in the world are completely ignored. Most places are in decline and no one wants to submit a minimum of effort for the place of recovery or even maintain its current state. As an example: the monastery Voronet (unique in the country because of its beautiful colors and designs). It is unfortunate that many things are not done for our country and for many natural riches of our region.

However interesting pictures of Chile. We expect more!

I'm sorry if I misled some of the readers when I said that Voronet Monastery is one of the monuments that no one takes care of. It was partially true - the monastery is now renovated, after 17 years of work and little help from the authorities responsible (it took only 4 monts and a half to build it).

I see, are beyond beautiful landscapes, full of nature. I also see many i30 jajaja

Chile too few resources allocated to the restoration of historic or cultural areas. The best example is the City of Valparaiso, which is well known ... was named "World Heritage of Humanity" and is to be falling apart. It is a beautiful city, very picturesque, but without the care they need.

beautiful scenery!

ohh! black sea is close to Romania! why is it called black sea?

********************************************************************************

*****************

From what I know, the name comes from the color that you see while looking at it during the storms - the color is almost black. This sea has lot's of algae and because of this you can't see that deep into it. The Mediteranian Sea for example is quite clear. When you want to look deep into it you can see the bottom if the water has 1- 4 metters, with the Black Sea you can't do it.

If anyone has another explication, please do tell!

********************************************************************************

*****************

Din cate stiu eu numele vine de la faptul ca in timpul furtunilor marea are culoare aproape neagra. Marea Neagra are multe alge si din aceasta cauza nu poti vedea in adancul ei prea bine. Daca vrei poti sa ii vezi fundul, daca apa are 1-4 metri, in Marea Neagra nu poti face asta.

Daca altcineva are o alta explicatie, va rog interveniti!

hola

hi

Dakar passed very near Santiago on Tuesday 12 January. They passed through a town called "kitchen gardens" and stayed there to rest between stage 10 and 11.

I could not miss, so I went to see them together with some friends of the Club.

Not really took many pictures with my camera because the batteries were depleted. So I'll steal some pictures that put a participant in the forum.

Unfortunately, that day it was very very hot, so we could not stay long, plus the room was surrounded and could only watch from the sidelines.

I hope that photos they like.
